Spring Break!

Hey guys,

Apologies for the very belated Spring Break blog. It has been a fun-filled, busy and action packed few weeks.

To begin, my single exam went really well and although I stressed out a little too much I was happy with my final grades for the quarter. To send off winter quarter with a bang I joined Manny, Wyatt and a small group of friends for some celebratory beverages, bbqing and games. Unfortunately due to the large number of celebratory beverages consumed Wyatt has had his hand bandaged for the last two weeks, yet he is on the mend!

After some fun and games to celebrate I was off super early on Saturday morning to bus, train, fly and drive up to Sacramento. It was a huge day and I was very happy to see Dad and Alice on the other side. As well as the delicious home cooked meal!

The Surfliner that I took down to Burbank Airport was really great and reminded me of being on the Eurostar travelling through Italy. The views were also pretty glorious as the amtrak line follows the coast down to North LA.

As soon as I got to Davis my excitement about meeting Charlotte hit high speed and I was in no way disappointed. She is so beautiful and a very happy baby, making faces and being very cuddly. Unfortunately we just missed seeing her smile as she got there this week. I can't wait to visit again later this year and will undoubtedly be shocked at how much she has grown.

After getting some well earned r and r with Dad and Alice at their place in Davis I was excited to head back down to Northern Southern California for the rest of the Spring Break adventures. Dad's rental place was an adorable cottage pictures above fit with a community of neighbourhood turkeys and squirrels.

LA, Malibu and Santa Barbara is a glamorous way to finish off Spring Break festivities. Upon arrival at LAX I was bombarded with my first ever airport celebrity sighting and paparazzi encounter. We then spent the afternoon hanging around Santa Monica and grabbing an early dinner at Nikita's and Nobu in Malibu. The dinner was incredibly delicious, Japanese fusion. The food was amazing but the company was even better and it was so nice to catch up with Cara and Dennis.

Due to a mix up with dorm times I stayed with them one more night in Santa Barbara up in the foothills. The views from the hotel were spectacular and it was fantastic to have some great meals with Dennis' family.

It's crazy to think that I'm half way through exchange and it was so nice to come back to UCSB. The place really feels like home after these past few months and I am energised and ready to get into Spring Quarter shenanigans.
